'How Congress Can Start Reforming Middle East Studies' with Winfield Myers and Clifford Smith

from Middle East Forum Podcast · host Middle East Forum

Title VI of the Higher Education Act of 1965 deploys taxpayer funds to train specialists in the languages and area studies of key world regions. For many years, however, Middle East studies centers have abused the program by using its funds to support anti-American, pro-Islamist research, teaching, and outreach efforts. In effect, taxpayers subsidize the undermining of their own security. Campus Watch and the Washington Project are working together to reform Title VI by involving members of Congress.
