How creative arts help students at risk connect and heal
from Create with Franz · host Franz Sidney
Oliver cannot sit still at school. He disturbs everyone, pushes other kids and refuses to listen to those trying to help him. Doctors say there is nothing physically wrong with him. Yet he is verbally aggressive, has no self confidence and gets warned, then isolated, then punished, and finally excluded from high school. He joins an armed gang, and talks about revenge. His future looks bleak and his anger at the system his high. What's happening? Why is the system failing him? What can we do to help? Sometimes we overlook the obvious reasons why our youth behave in unacceptable ways. In this episode and in the next one I follow Professor Kelvin Ramirez in his programme designed to rescue children at risk like Oliver and to intervene before the damage is done. #anxiety #stopviolenceatschool #traumahealing #creativityheals #musicheals #arthealing Did you enjoy this episode and would like to share some love? 💜 Hit that like button and subscribe! 👫 Share the episode with a friend. 🎧 Listen or watch all the way through. 🙋♀️ Add a comment, suggestion or question! ✅ Leave a review on iTunes, Listen Notes, Amazon, Spotify – your thoughts matter! ✅ Sponsor an episode! 👍 Every like, share, and review helps this show grow. 🙏 Thank you for being an amazing supporter! 🫶💜 Follow me and my art journey here: https://substack.com/@franzsidney Therapy: https://www.facebook.com/franzsidneytherapy/reviews Instagram @CreatewithFranz
