How crime looks like in SA compared to neighboring countries

from AM Live on SAfm · host SABC News and Current Affairs

While recent crime stats for 2019/20 revealed an overall decline when compared to the prior year, only contact crimes for this period were up. We ask- how is South African crime compared to our neighbouring countries? We do a comparative study looking at Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe amd Botswana - questioning where and why we are high in certain areas compared to those countries? Where we can improve based on how those countries are handling crime and issues around policing and law enforcement? We also look at lessons we can learn from those countries. We spoke to Lizette Lancaster, Manager of the Crime and Justice Information and Analysis Hub at the Institute for Security Studies.
