#444 Today's Boondoggle- Sun Don't Shine around Todd Strange of Crowbar and DOWN 🤘 How Did a Childhood Friendship Birth CROWBAR & DOWN? What happens when a childhood friendship forged in New Orleans spawns one of the most legendary sludge metal bands of all time? 🔥 Bill sits down with Todd Strange — bassist and founding force behind CROWBAR — for a wild, no-holds-barred conversation about the underground scene that built a genre! Todd takes us back to the beginning with Slugs, the band that evolved into the mighty CROWBAR, and shares stories about growing up alongside the iconic Kirk Windstein. We dive deep into the legendary DOWN, some unforgettable Phil Anselmo stories, and what fatherhood really means to a road-hardened metal warrior. But that's not all — Todd opens up about collaborating with members of TYPE O NEGATIVE on groundbreaking art, life on a Texas cattle farm, the mythical "Tractor Rick," and how EYE AM was born and eventually transformed into Sun Don't Shine. Plus, we get the inside story on their partnership with Corpse Paint Records! This is one conversation you absolutely cannot miss — New Orleans sludge metal at its rawest and most real!
