How Did Onslaught Make THIS Much Chaos So Boring?
from The Fear Review Hosted by thefearreview
Onslaught should have been an easy win: super soldiers, buckets of blood, over-the-top action, Dan Stevens and a movie that seems determined to turn everything up to 15. So how did all that chaos somehow stop being fun? William and Amy get into the repetitive action sequences, the supposedly elite super soldiers who start feeling more like three Michael Myers, the Grindhouse style, some questionable choices involving Dan Stevens, practical gore that doesn’t always work and the handful of characters who actually manage to keep things grounded. Amy may not have hated Onslaught, but that might actually be part of the problem. William found more to like, but walked away far more disappointed than he expected. Did all of Onslaught’s bloody excess work for you, or did it somehow become less fun the harder it tried?
