They make the comparison that if things back then were like today, Americans never would have come together to become an independent nation. The use of social media, also plays an effect in the constant interaction with people, where back then, you would have to travel thousands of miles to see another person. With the freedom and independence that people have today, we are able to create our own towns and living spaces that cater to our lifestyles.
