How to find motivation in my situation? This is the day you deserve in broadcast with Anthony Fungini 9. It's 1.39am as I write this. I have about an hour or so more to put my thoughts together before I retire, as I record this episode first thing tomorrow so that it reaches you today as you are listening to it.

Did you get that? I must admit, with much work to be done tomorrow, I am already challenged knowing I won't get much sleep and most likely loaded with work and tightness, I won't be able to exercise either. Just thinking about it is demotivating me. So what do I do?

I dig deep. I dig deeper. Finding motivation in times like this will mean going beyond my usual sources. Here are four ways to find motivation when you need it in your situation, perhaps today.

Number one, listen to yourself and others. And to listen means to pay attention, to focus, to take heed, which means to adjust involving both the mind and the heart. Are you really just upset that you weren't informed of the meeting or are you deeply saddened that you have been neglected and set aside yet once again? It is helpful to act based on a reason that is not superficial, that is rooted to the core.

Number two, how to find motivation when you need it, open yourself to new ways of being re-energized, of being re-created, re-motivated, which means once again. I just had a call with a Canadian healing and recovery practitioner for a possible business partnership and I found myself inspired by his offer to help Arkham to heal. Initially through an online healing session to as many Philip Binos who have suffered pain, anguish the past couple of years due to the pandemic. I was humbled as he offered to conduct a session and even trained me to do it for free.

This just happened an hour ago and certainly a motivation I didn't anticipate receiving online at this time. Open yourself to new sources of motivation. Number three, offer what you can, what you have, what you are willing to give others, who may need it. Let me quote Henry Nowan, our humanity comes to its fullest bloom in giving.

We become beautiful people when we give whatever we can give. A smile, a handshake, a kiss, an embrace, a word of love, a present, a part of our life, all of our life. What can you offer someone today? And finally, number four, keep searching, keep going.

As Stephen Fertic reminds us, don't just look, look and lift, it may be under. You know, I've been reading the book of Jeremiah from scripture, the past days, a spot of my morning quiet time and I have to admit, it's not been the very encouraging book. He was a prophet and what he said was not a welcome message to most. But the 29th chapter was an amazing revelation.

I have read the Bible, perhaps 15 times all my life, but it's always new when you keep searching, when you keep going. See many quote verses 11 and 12 and Jeremiah 29. And if I can just share that, I'm sure you've heard it at one point in your life, where I know the plans I have for you, the clairs of our plans to prosper, you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you.

End quote. That verse is motivating, but it wasn't reading that verse itself that moved me at this time. It was the context. The circumstances the people of Israel were about to experience as that was shared.

If you read the entire book of Jeremiah, even just the chapter itself, 29, they were about to be taken over the Israelites by the evil king, Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar, I don't know how you say it. They were going to be plundered as a nation and exiled to Babylon. And how can that be motivating? Well, as I read the whole chapter, not just the choosy verses, I found out that God was disciplining his own people and was using the king as his servant to purify Israel.

And it was a message to the people to allow it to happen, not to fight the king, to accept the situation of exile and to continue living and even building where they will be sent. It was a promise of prosperity in a time of captivity. And it encouraged me as I find myself in the middle of many commitments, obligations, you know, these days with so many deliverables that I've never encountered before and in industries that I've never been part of. And it is encouraging and motivating that I think God is telling me that it is in this situation where I find myself in right now that he will still bless me if I will be interested.

And yes, if I keep going in January 29, verse 13, it reads, he will seek me and find me if you seek me with all your heart. Find motivation when you need it, if you will look, okay, listen, open your mind and heart to new ways, offer what you have and keep searching and keep going. Because when you truly look, you will find. I say a 40-31, but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength.

They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.
