How do I go beyond staying afloat for a great finish? This is the daily disturbance podcast with Anthony Ongeen on it. Dieter Ochnorf, it's your reaction to adversity, not adversity itself, that determines how your life story will develop. It's staying afloat a bad thing.
Sometimes, it's something that's just there, that is most dear to us. And often subconsciously, that only when it's suddenly gone that we realize it's worth. So no, staying afloat is not always a bad thing, right? It's the loss of something that is constant, constantly present, many times it hits us hardest.
Not something that was occasionally around. Be little, not consistency in staying afloat. Without the buoys, for example, near the shore or in the middle of the sea, nothing would keep us from wandering into danger songs. Then again, there will be times that opportunities will be presented to us to rise even further.
To go beyond survival, or barely making it, is this such a time for you? Panache Desan has 12 suggestions for us. To move from just surviving to actually thriving. Pick up a few that will apply to you.
Number one, take time in the morning to find your center and set intentions for the day. Make inner stillness and connection in your sanctuary and set the scene for how you want your day to unfold. Number two, consistently let go of expectations, unhealthy expectations. If the expectations placed upon you by society, family, friends, peers, colleagues, or even yourself aren't in alignment with the energy you wish to embody, let them go.
Number three, listen intently without judgment. A tough one for me. The mind loves to analyze and judge. Take a breath.
Take a step back. Allow your consciousness to listen fully and release the inclination to jump into judgment. Number four, from surviving to thriving, enjoy nature. The trees, birds, bees, rushing water, if that's even available.
And desert sand have so much to teach. Be with them and tune into the energy of simply being. Number five, get up and dance when you feel too serious. Oh my God, I did this the other day in taping.
Movement releases stagnation. Where else with the phrase, check it off, come from when the worries of the world where you down play your favorite song, get up, the mental likeness of your being, shine through. Number six, unplug your devices and relish in the stillness. After you listen to this podcast, okay, the average digital consumer has around four to six devices.
These devices too often serve as distractions. Tune them out so you can tune into the still sweetness, right, of the divine within you. Number seven, be mindful of complaining too much. Focus more on what you love and admire and less and what you love.
You'll be amazed how this alone attracts more love and abundance in your life. Number 10, show your appreciation for the people who support you. I like this practice, radical gratitude. Appreciation energetically uplifts those who love you, right, because appreciation adds value.
Take the time to send a thoughtful note of appreciation or a voice note to someone today. Number 11, while I was there, guys, right in the journal, for five minutes a day, for me, it's 15, 20 minutes a day. Pour ring your emotions into paper releases them in a way that can be difficult with words. Write your heart out for five, 15 minutes a day and witness how your energy shifts afterward and finally choose love over fear.
In each moment, be mindful and ask yourself if you're coming from a place of fear or love. Bring awareness to the different sensations and outcomes of each energy, the choice from there is obvious love always wins. Thank you for that, Benash. Let me end with this quote by Helen Keller.
Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of overcoming. It's a Friday and it's a good time to review this week's content, even if you didn't hear all of them, and decide on what to stop, what to start and what to continue doing. If, and I'm sure you didn't pick this up, I actually spoke of five principles this week, one each day. The first one was the need to recognize cycles of highs and lows as a part of life.
Number two, elevating our reactions to our higher nature as human beings is key. Number three, to move from surviving to thriving, we need to initiate strategic responses, working smarter, not just harder for short and long term wins. Number four, getting into the habit, right? One day at the time is not negotiable.
And number five, nurturing self and others for a strong and united finish. R E I G N rain rain in this life, my friend. God bless.
