How Do We Really Change Police Culture For the Better? A Conversation with Attorney and former DPD Officer David Robinson

Craig talks with attorney and former Detroit cop David Robinson about his new book "You see a Hero, I see a Human Being". Robinson argues that reform of police departments requires first adhering to, and enforcing the rules that are already on the books.  He also suggests that judges and juries are too deferential to police, making it easier for officers to evade real scrutiny of their actions.  He also says police attitudes must change. According to Robinson, “Obtaining the best possible outcomes begins with reexamining police culture and shifting to a new way of looking at what can go right, rather than go wrong, if police officers approach these moments differently.”
