HOW DO YOU PROMOTE YOUR SHOWS?
from KeithKeller · host KeithKeller
Sherry Grant - Can you tell us about Luma? Keith Keller - Okay, so you asked the question, how do I promote the shows now? Luma - Lu.ma is probably my favorite site on the internet, in in at the moment, maybe ever, because it has this really robust way of cataloging the shows in order. I do three Shows a week, so you can look at the list of shows. You can register for them, ou get an email to say that you've been accepted or connected. You get an email the day before and you get an email an hour before. It's purpose built for people that want to go to the shows, but sometimes forget. So I do three Shows a week, and they're all listed there, and there's a little bit of a spiel, and there's a nice graphic and the link to the show, but you might be forgiven for forgetting that it's on, so Luma sends you a reminder. It's like purpose built for people who run shows. I love it. Do you use it yourself? Sherry Grant - A little bit? I only just started using it. I used it for one but I didn't send it to anybody yet, but I think I'll start doing what you're doing, like a plan much more ahead. Then I can upload things there, and people can register to come and then be reminded. I also like the reminder from discord. Keith Keller - That's right!! On Discord, because it is such an inclusive site. When the show goes live, it sends all of the members of the community a show a link to say, hey, Keith's going live in five minutes. That's actually how you get to come to my shows. You get a little reminder on your phone, don't you? Sherry Grant - Yeah, and what about nas.io? Are you still using that much? Keith Keller - Yes!! Nas.io is a site that's really quite clever because it links with other big sites. The challenge with creators that have lots of content is not necessarily in creating the content, but in telling people that it exists, getting the word out. Luma, I think, does a better job than NAS. Lu.ma versus nas.io they're both very similar sites. There's a lot of different competitors, but Naz, but NAS links to discord, so I have a community on Discord, and NAS works very closely with discord, so there's their brothers. So you're getting sort of two bites at the cherry for the same effort. Yeah. So please come to my shows. If you're listening to the show, please come to my shows, because this is exactly what we talk about. Running your own business, being a creator, in a creator economy in 20 in the 2020s it can be overwhelming, but my job, my my passion, is that I just I'm constantly researching all these cool tools and the shows, they're fascinating, aren't they? Sherry Grant - Yeah, the talk is always different, because sometimes we get different people, but there are always some people who are always there.
