Taking on a name can mean many things. the most common is a claiming of a lost part of yourself. Africans and descendants of this populace are the only race that struggles with the problem of who am I ? what is my lineage religion and customs? Many have taken new names as personal steps to find the answers to these questions. Ifa Festival is part of what we have to eulogize Olódùmarè to show our existence. And it also symbolizes a new year for the festivalist.
