Good morning and wish you all a very happy Thursday morning. Today's podcast episode title is, How do you relate to your business and the subtitle is, My relationship with my business changed after reading this affirmation. I practice a few rituals in the morning that help me integrate and live by my BEM, Body, Emotions and Mind model. One such ritual is saying affirmations.
I have observed that by saying affirmations loudly in front of the mirror, I get to see myself, hear my voice, watch my body language and feel my feelings. To me, it serves as perfect coordination of how I'm physically showing up, emotionally feeling and mentally present to what I'm affording. I started saying affirmations several years back when I lost my job and embraced self-employment as a blessing in disguise. Saying these affirmations have tremendously helped me move through major life transformations from mother to empty nesters to mother-in-law to grandmother, smoothly.
In the professional arena, saying affirmations have helped me to be determined with grit and gratitude when expectations are not met. In a following article, I shared how saying an affirmation from Louisa's book, Meditations to Heal Your Life, describing the word money, helped me, one, program my subconscious mind with the thoughts of the solution, confidence, gratitude and abundance, instead of thoughts of problems, worry, ungraciousness and scarcity. Today, I invite you to read the following quoted affirmation titled Business from the book Meditations to Heal Your Life by Louisa Al-Hai with me in front of the mirror. Go pick, go, go in front of the mirror right now as you're listening, I know it's tough, just do it.
As you do, please be kind to yourself and become aware of your thoughts, feelings and any body of these sensations that may come up. Here is the affirmation from the book and the typing on the page is business. I trust divine intelligence to influence my business and I go from success to success. My business is doing what I love.
I trust divine intelligence to run my business, whether I own my business in the worldly sense or not. I am an instrument, I am an instrument employed by this divine intelligence. There is only one intelligence and this intelligence has a splendid track record in the history of our solar system guiding each of the planets for millions of years along pathways that are orderly and harmonious. I willingly accepted this intelligence as my partner in business, beautiful circumstances as my partner in business.
It is easy for me to channel my energy into working with this powerful intelligence. Out of this intelligence comes all the answers, all the solutions, all the healings and all the new creations and ideas that make my business such a joyous blessing and success. Now how has the relationship with my business changed after seeing the above affirmation consistently? Instead of thinking of my business as a complicated separate entity from me, I am allowing myself to be an instrument or a tool employed by divine intelligence that runs my business. And as you know that I am a self-employed person, I have, so if you ask me the question do you have employees? No, no.
But you know what, I use systems, I use technology, I use service providers. They are like, I want in the, if you define employee a W2, no, it's not like that, but then I use that. So that's what I'm trying to say. For me, my self-employment is a business.
Yes, I do pay business taxes. I do pay the social security on that, everything. So for me, that's the thing. Now I have taken certain, or I've made certain decisions in my life that I want to grow my business.
This much is enough. And my business, the definition I put in my vision or mission or whatever statement to my own self is that this is what is important. Is it to the highest good to all concern? Is it perceived as high as good to all concern?
Is it legit? Proceed as legit? Is it ethical? Proceed as let it think?
What I mean is these questions I ask when I take any steps. And I do my best to answer, you know, look for the answers. Sometimes it comes immediately. That's why there will be delay in making certain leaps to grow my business.
And that's fine. I do come across. I do come become an impediment to the growth of my own business. Then I start reconstructing or redefining what does business mean to me.
Does that make sense? Sometimes I have even pivoted. Like first in the beginning, I was doing a coordination between the law firm and the employee for immigration. Then I pivoted into coaching by investing time, money and effort in coaching programs, business coaching and life coaching.
So I define, so the definition goes and you know, that's what it is. Okay, so when I consider divine intelligence as a partner that provides me with all answers and solutions, I can handle any resistance or challenge that comes up with running my business provided. I'm open to learning absolutely. I always, I'm always going to a university or I'm always a part of the university called life university.
That's where I learn. The resistance could be as simple as having trouble with making important decisions to hire a service provider or a challenging crucial situation regarding a firm yes or no. Answer. Once I'm open to learning from my partner, with my partner, divine intelligence, the answers, comma, firm decisions and solutions shine in.
