How Earned Secure Attachments Heal Us

from Same, friend! · host Jen Vrooman

I'd love to hear from you! In childhood, we can develop insecure attachments based on the difficult relationships we have with our caregivers and family members. Once we develop those insecure attachments, we carry them with us into adulthood, often making our adult lives and relationships harder. This can be frustrating and exhausting. Is there any hope? Can we grow? Can we heal? Can we ever experience safe, good and secure relationships with ourselves and others? Trauma research says yes. Earned Secure Attachments are new, safe, kind, compassionate, repairable relationships that help us heal from past relational damage. These relationships are a big deal and it's worth it for us to learn how to be one for others as well as to show our appreciation for those in our life who are healing us more than they know.

Song Against Songs, The by G. K. Chesterton (1874 - 1936) LibriVox LibriVox volunteers bring you 9 recordings of The Song Against Songs by G. K. Chesterton. This was the Fortnightly Poetry project for October 16, 2011.Chesterton was a large man, standing 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) and weighing around 21 stone (130 kg; 290 lb). His girth gave rise to a famous anecdote. During World War I a lady in London asked why he was not 'out at the Front'; he replied, 'If you go round to the side, you will see that I am.' On another occasion he remarked to his friend George Bernard Shaw: "To look at you, anyone would think a famine had struck England". Shaw retorted, "To look at you, anyone would think you have caused it". P. G. Wodehouse once described a very loud crash as "a sound like Chesterton falling onto a sheet of tin."( Summary from Wikipedia ) Talent Stacker Jonathan Mendonsa Data suggests that the average cost of college in 2019 was $122,000 while the entry-level salary for a college graduate at the same time period was 50,000.
