How does exercise fit into the weight loss equation?

In this episode, I’m taking food off the table and chatting about exercise and movement. 

Throughout this podcast, I’ve talked about building a healthy relationship with food. Well, it’s just as important to do that with exercise. 

When you start to exercise for the sole purpose of burning calories and losing weight- it tends to create a negative relationship with it, and it makes it really tough to build a habit. 

So many times, I've seen women mad at themselves for gaining those 10 pounds so they punish themselves with hours of trying to burn as many calories as possible and that’s just no fun! They end up hating the process and giving up. 

Or, they are punishing themselves with exercise for something they ate. 

Movement and exercise gives you a sense of accomplishment and confidence. You feel stronger, have more energy, and feel empowered. These are the things you want to focus on. Weight loss can just be an added benefit.
