Right now the main focus in our fight against COVID-19 are the variants that are popping up around the United States and around the world. And when you talk about variants there's another phrase that gets thrown around too, 'genetic surveillance.' It's a critical tool for tracking and responding to virus variants, so we wanted to learn more about it and how it works. Dr. Zachary Klase, Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology & Physiology at the Drexel College of Medicine joins KYW Newsradio in Depth to break down what genetic surveillance is and how the US can start doing it better.
