Many of the brethren are abusing grace. Yes, they are! they are saying, "Jesus took my sins to the cross, now I can do as I please!" Jesus did took our place at the cross, paying the full penalty for our sins, so we could be forgiven and reconciled to God. However, this does NOT give the us license to sin — it gives us freedom from the penalty of sin, but still calls us to live in holiness and obedience. The correct understanding is that the cross is the basis for forgiveness, not for immoral license. GOD FORBID! True grace transforms lives, calling believers to righteousness, moral responsibility, and spiritual growth, rather than offering freedom to sin without consequence. TITUS 2:11-12 TEACHES, "11 For the [remarkable, undeserved] grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12 It teaches us to reject ungodliness and worldly (immoral) desires, and to live sensible, upright, and godly lives [lives with a purpose that reflect spiritual maturity] in this present age."
