How I Got Out of Credit Card Debt, and How You Can Too

from Hello Dahhhhling with Erin Darling · host Erin Darling

Part of being a Hot Pizza Ass is taking responsibility and control of your finances. So, on this week's episode I'm doing a tell all on how I paid off over $5000 dollars of credit card debt in 6 months, even in a pandemic, even as a freelancer in an industry which has been shut down since March. HINT: it takes awareness (and actually reading your CC statements), and an aggressive plan to beat the interest game that the credit card companies want you to lose.   Plus, why I got into debt in the first place, mistakes I made, what I learned about finances, interest, credit scores, and credit card companies in the process of getting out of it. Zach Harper (@talkhoops) joins in as well to share simple tips on financial lessons he's learned as well and what he did to improve his credit score in just 4 months.     Corrections - There's a part in the pod where I say I made smaller payments in "April and May," I meant to say "April and March." Blame it on the celebration sake. Also, I said if I paid just the minimum on my credit card it would take like 40 years to pay off. I just double checked. The correct number was about 18 years.      RECENT PIZZA ROUND UP     Lou Malnati's (Chicago, but they ship) - https://www.loumalnatis.com/ Pizzana (Los Angeles) - https://pizzana.com/   RESOURCES   On IG follow @ramit  @daveramsey @davidbach Nerd Wallet - https://www.nerdwallet.com/   BOOKS   "I Will Teach You To Be Rich" by Ramit Sethi   SUPPORT THE SHOW Patreon.com/erindarling    If you liked this episode. or if it could be useful or inspiring to someone you know in credit card debt, please share it with them!
