They are supposed to make daily life convenient, replacing traditional keys, cards, IDs, and even train tickets with a microchip. And it’s been put into practice for years. In 2018, Business Insider published an article with video showing that state-owned SJ – national Swedish railway – started scanning hands of passengers with biometric chips to collect their train fare. Yeah, but microchips are the stuff of conspiracy theorists aren’t they? Just like vaccine passports. ARRRn’t they? Guess the headlines shouting “Pentagon scientists reveal a microchip that senses COVID-19 in your body BEFORE you show symptoms and a filter that extracts the virus from blood” must be fake news then. At least the Pentagon said they're not looking to track people's movements with these microchips. And we all know they're known for being men and women of their word who would never violate the rights of American citizens.
