Hi everyone, and welcome to this special Father's Day episode on the Motherkind podcast. This is the show that's going to help you navigate the massive challenges of motherhood and, this week, fatherhood with more acceptance, ease, joy, and purpose. Thanks to each and every one of you that come back every week to listen, learn and feel inspired. It's father's day here in the UK on the 19th of June. And I am so excited about this episode. It is a powerful one. My guest is Bodé Aboderin (AKA Papa B). He is a writer, speaker, businessman, and stay-at-home dad. His wife is the amazing Candice Brathwaite, who has also been on the podcast. So check out that episode, if you haven't listened to it already Bodé is on a mission. He says we need a new way of thinking about masculinity and fatherhood. And he says it's vital that men unpack their beliefs about what it means to be a man and a father or else they risk perpetuating this old really stifling idea of masculinity. Bodé’s story is one of transformation. He shares how he used to believe being a man meant, earning more, not showing his feelings and having this unpenetrable mask of masculinity. Hitting rock bottom, he had a breakthrough that led him to totally transform how he sees his role as a man and a father. And that is what we talk about in this episode. It is incredibly powerful and I really, really hope that this is going to be one that you're going to share with the men in your life. Within minutes of recording it, I sent it to my husband, Guy. Urging him in all caps to please listen. His new book called Fatherhood, is brilliantly written, it's relatable, it's compassionate, and it is a credible call to arms for the men in our lives. I think you're also going to cry at the gift that he would give to all fathers. If you love the podcast, please do me a favour and subscribe. It really does help. I really hope you enjoy this father's day special episode. Here it is. As always, we continue the conversation over on Instagram, so come and join us there.
