Sighting the recent case of Senator Robert Menendez, a New Jersey Democrat charged with accepting bribes, including cash, gold bars, and a Mercedes-Benz, in exchange for political favors to foreign governments. Sen. Menendez’s attorneys revealed they planned to call a New York psychiatrist to testify that the senator’s “intergenerational trauma” created an undisclosed mental health disorder that caused him to store his riches at home.
