How is it Possible that Jesus Can Die on My Behalf?

from Columbus Evangelical Church Sermons · host Michael Sweet

Through this series we've been digging deeper into the Gospel, and we've come to realize that we have been united with Jesus. In this week's passage, Paul will build upon what he calls the mystery of “Christ in you” (1:27) by drawing connections to baptism. Baptism is a physical “shadow” of a spiritual reality that’s happening in our lives. The imagery of baptism is one in which we are being united with Christ in His death and resurrection. As we are dunked into the water it's like being buried into the grave. As we raise from the water it's like being raised from the dead to new life. Wow!!! In this message we'll reflect on this spiritual power and reality that baptism is trying to help us physically see.
