from Messages from the Word of God · host Nwankwo via Apogee

Scripture texts are Nehemiah 1.1-4 and Matthew 20.25-28. Here are three traits that describe how leaders become.1. Aspiring leaders can identify the crux of the matter.MITT= Most important thing today. Other things may be important in leadership, but the priority is the MITT.2. Aspiring leaders are passionate about the situation. The burden on you about something can become your passion! Nehemiah had a burden, his people’s situation, that became his calling! I will take motivation with integrity over competence with a bad attitude. Preachers, teachers, ministers, leaders, often sound angry. It's not anger, it is passion!3. Aspiring leaders take ownership of the issue.Nehemiah realized he was called to do something. You and I know that God has called us to take ownership of something! What is our part in some burdensome area of life? Personally, God has given ALL Christians, ALL of His children, a purpose, a passion, something to take ownership of. Sometimes it starts by feeling like a burden!Being a leader does not mean being a BOSS with a TITLE telling people what to do! No! Jesus in Matt 20.25-28, “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant!” Let’s lead like Nehemiah and Jesus! Let the Holy Spirit lead us! Amen.
