How Living the Unexpected Life & Learning From Failures Can Lead to Reaching our Potential with LMFT HEATHER SEVERN CALLISTER

from Beautiful Shifts · host Lindsay & Shantil

Today we have such a fun, meaningful conversation with Heather as she shares how tulips, cake, and basketball shoes relate to her story and the theme of living the unexpected life and learning from failures. Heather shares about her son who has down syndrome and autism, is tube fed, non-verbal, and medically complex, and how each of us will have times we're living the unexpected and what that can lead to. She shares her perspective on failure and taking risks and how these work into different parts of her experiences.    Heather is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Relationship Coach and has been counceling clients since 2004. Her passion is to help others reprogram their mindset to reach their potential. She currently lives with her family in Salt Lake City, Utah, and considers herself a cake baking nerd, loves to karaoke with her family, and loves basketball.   We thoroughly enjoyed this conversation and are excited for you to hear from Heather and learn from her perspectives!    Find Heather on Instagram @heather_coach. Wherever Life Takes Us whereverlifetakesuss Join three best friend as they explore this beautiful world! Half Ties kwamenabrace Half-ties is a conversation series on the funny, beautiful and sometimes challenging moments that interracial couples experience being with somebody who’s culturally different from them.Hosted by creative couple Olivia & Kwamena, we listen to stories about growing up with racism and prejudice; falling in love and meeting the in-laws; navigating difficult conversations within the family and in society, and how these couples make their relationship work and what they actively choose to pass down to the next generation. C.S. Lewis's The Last Battle St. Philip's Church: Charleston, SC Come join us on Wednesday nights as we explore the riches of C.S. Lewis’s marvelous book The Last Battle, which is the last of The Chronicles of Narnia. It is a remarkable book on multiple levels and was awarded the Carnegie Medal back in the 1950s when it was first published. The Last Battle has some themes in common with The Great Divorce and That Hideous Strength that will make it an excellent follow-up to those two books, and like them, it has some remarkable resonance with things going on in today’s culture. It is a book that is both theologically rich and poignantly beautiful in its writing, and it can help equip us to live boldly for Christ in a culture that has lost its way. (Although this book is the last of The Chronicles of Narnia, it can stand on its own and it is not necessary to have read the other books for this class.)
