How Living with Intention Helped to Overcome a Near-Death Experience | Rob Cressy

from The Life Shift | Conversations About Life Before and After · host Matt Gilhooly

Rob Cressy went from selling advertising on an obituary website to becoming a self-aware, growth-minded sports creator by design, not by default. This mindset helped him survive a near-death experience during a marathon run. "I was working in a call center for a bank, making $10 an hour, when I realized I was living a life I didn't want. I was good at my job, but I knew I was meant for more. So I decided to take a leap of faith and quit my job to pursue my dream of working in sports. I was back at zero, but I was self-aware and had a growth mindset. I knew I could make today better than yesterday. And I did. I built a successful career as a sports podcaster and writer. Every day, I'm reminded that I am in control of my life and can be anything I want to be." In this episode, you will learn:  1. How Rob went from unemployed and in debt to a successful sales career and eventually pursued his dream of working in sports full time 2. How self-awareness and a growth mindset can help you overcome adversity and challenges 3. How everything in your life can be by design if you are intentional about it "I am no longer living that way. Yes, it's comfortable, yes, you make a ton of money. But to those things, I don't care. That does not matter to me." Rob Cressy is a Personal Growth Coach.
