But Paul redirects their focus. Spiritual gifts are given so the church may be strengthened, encouraged, and built up in truth.Clear, understandable proclamation of God’s Word is central to the life of the church. When God’s people speak in ways that strengthen others, the body grows and Christ is honored.Big Idea:Mature disciples are devoted to building up God’s church.Paul calls believers to pursue love, seek gifts that edify others, and approach worship with maturity.
