In this episode Lauren continues her discussion of how other cultures raise their children to be a part of the family unit in a helpful and cooperative way. To raise helpful, cooperative, and motivated kids you have to teach them emotional control and how to return to a calm, neutral state. The first way we do this is to model calm to our children. How do we do that when they are pushing our buttons, not listening, or throwing a tantrum? This episode walks you through some techniques to return yourself to a calm state before dealing with your kiddo.Lauren discusses two other methods to calm kids down. One is giving the kid information so they know they are doing has consequences and is not part of your family values.
