How Secure Is the Salvation of a Believer?

Can a genuinely saved believer lose his salvation? Is eternal security truly biblical, or is it simply a theological tradition that Christians have inherited?Few questions surrounding salvation have generated as much discussion and disagreement as the security of the believer.
