How Self-Limiting Beliefs Are Keeping You From Reaching Your Goals (& how to overcome them) | PD Podcast Ep.142

from Physique Development Podcast · host Physique Development

Most people have self-limiting beliefs that they are not good enough or worthy enough for something (or someone). This causes them to act according to this belief system. The American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) did a study on accountability for people trying to reach a goal. Here's what they found: The probability of you completing a goal IF: -You have an idea of wanting to lose weight: 10% -You consciously decide or declare you will do it: 25% -You decide WHEN you will do it: 40% -You plan HOW you will do it: 50% -You commit to someone you will do it: 65% -You commit financially that you will do it and have specific accountability appointments with the person or coach you committed to: 95% What's a self-limiting belief you have? Do you tell yourself you aren't cut out for it? Like you can't be good enough? It's important to distinguish between something that is important vs something that is essential to you. Self-sabotaging happens when there's a mismatch between our values and our behavior. Listen in as Sue and Alex discuss how your self-limiting beliefs could be holding you back from your goals, common struggles or objections when looking for an online coach, and how to vet coaches so you find the best coach for YOU.
