How Seth Godin Shifts A Common Question In Order for Us to Discover Our Purpose
from A Phil Svitek Podcast - A Series From Your 360 Creative Coach · host Phil Svitek
Most of us, especially in high school, have been asked what we want to be when we grow up. An exercise that's quite common is to ask yourself what would you do if you knew you couldn't fail. It's aimed to take away the pressure. But the problem is that it edges us towards something glamorous that feeds our ego because of course, we can't fail. This is problematic as Seth Godin points out. We need to alter this question and instead ask what would you do if you knew you'd fail. This simple shift completely changes the gravity of the question and really defines your purpose once you know the answer. This is the notion I explore with this episode. So listen and afterwards, please feel free to ask questions or offer opinions of your own, whether down in the comment section or by hitting me up on social media @PhilSvitek.
