How Social Media Makes Me a Better Mother

I was having a conversation with a friend a couple weeks ago and she made an offhand comment like, “Instagram makes me a terrible mother.” (By the way, this woman is an AMAZING mother by all definitions of motherhood). At first I wanted to blindly agree, and say, “Yeah, Instagram sucks,” but I didn’t – and I realize now it’s because I don’t really believe that.So today I’m going to share what I know is an unpopular opinion: Social media has made me a better mother.Motherhood involves an existential journey in our culture, and it’s having a positive trajectory in terms of awareness of what motherhood actually entails.
