How the Church Fathers Balanced Liturgy & SpontaneityYou ever been in one of those services where the Spirit of God was so tangible that the staff canceled the sermon, the offering, and communion so that we could continue in worship? Well back in my pentecostal days, it wasn't all that uncommon for us to do just that. But is it a good thing to throughout the liturgy (order of service) for spontaneity? On the other hand, should we be so liturgical that there is never room for spontaneous expressions of worship? Oddly enough the Church fathers might have an answer for us. In this episode Josh Hoffert, Matthew Esquivel, and Father Ron Drummond are doing a survey of the church fathers, looking for their balance of liturgy and spontaneity.
