How the Church Grows - Matthew 18:15-20 - Matthew Niemier

Controlled burns in Forrests or wooded areas are conducted in order to promote healthy growth. Often times growth is hindered by dead leaves, tree limbs, invasive plants, debris & harmful insects. Although this seems counterintuitive, it's really beneficial as the old dead weight is removed, so that plenty of room can be made for the new healthy vegetation. The church is similar, in that it purges sin to promote healthy spiritual growth.
