How the Guernsey Institute of Sport is helping the Bailiwick's best maximise their potential

from Guernsey Press Sport Podcast

What a summer it's been for Bailiwick sport. We've seen Heather Watson hit new heights at Wimbledon, Alex Scott crowned an U19 European football champion, and Team Guernsey win their first Commonwealth medals for almost 30 years. But what's being done to make sure the island's next generation of sporting talent get the grounding they need to maximise their potential? That's where the new Guernsey Institute of Sport aims to help. The latest incarnation of a local high-performance programme, it is set to launch next year with the goal of bringing a new focus to elite athlete development. Two of the team behind it, experienced physiotherapist Dan Guillemette and biomechanics specialist Conor Osborough join Tony Curr to explain how it will differ to what's come before and what it hopes to achieve.
