"How The Mighty Have Fallen" Week 7

How willing are you to attempt great things for God? So many of the things God has called us to do in this world seem unattainable. Taking the gospel to the ends of the earth.  Caring for the vast number of orphans around the world. Protecting the unborn in the US. Being a light in our city. How can we possibly accomplish any of these things? Yet, God has called us to them, so we should have faith that He will accomplish them through us. Chapter 14 is a tale of two leaders. One, Saul, who did not have enough faith in God, and the other, Jonathan, who had complete faith in God. Join us Sunday to see how we can be a Jonathan!The overall series through 1 Samuel is called Choose Your King. The book of 1 Samuel contains the record of the calling of the nation of Israel’s first kings. These earthly kings had significant victories in their lives and some devastating failures. We will see our own victories and failures as we look at their lives. But above all, we will see that God, embodied in HIs son Jesus, is the only perfect king and the one we need to follow. Because of the length of the overall book, we will break the series up into several smaller mini-series organized around the central characters.
