How The Word Makes us Grow

God's plan for you is to grow. 1 Peter 2:2 says to crave spiritual milk so that you may grow. You know that you are to read your Bible and pray everyday if you want to grow, like that popular Sunday school song says. But you might have tried doing this and you're not seeing any results of growth. You've gotten frustrated and have lost hope. Why haven't you been growing? Let's see Possible reasons 1. You haven't been understanding what you've been reading/hearing. You've been receiving the word without really understanding what it means. And since you haven't understood, the word is of no consequence to you. Matt 13:19. 2. The word you've received has no deep roots within you. You received the word with joy, but because it's roots aren't deep, it lasts for just a short time. Matt 13:20-21. 3. You're not at home, your heart isn't there. The word came, but the worries of life and hustle for money has you distracted and occupied, choking the word and making it unfruitful. 4. You're not a doer of what you have received and understood.
