How to Breathe Again When You're Drowning in Worry

from Quiet In The Night · host Bill Scott

How to Breathe Again When You're Drowning in Worry When worry feels like waves crashing over your soul, it can feel impossible to catch your breath. You lie awake at night rehearsing every "what if," every fear, every unknown. But even in the deepest waters, God meets you. Psalm 94:19 says, "When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy." God's presence doesn't always change the situation, but it changes you in it. He gently places His hand on your heart and whispers, "Breathe, child. I'm here." Worry thrives in isolation. But peace grows in the presence of Jesus. When you feel like you're drowning, don't fight the waves alone—call out to the One who walks on water. Breathe in His truth: "I will never leave you." Exhale the lies that say you're on your own. Start here: One slow breath. One whispered prayer. One moment of surrender. Let His love steady you. You don't have to have it all figured out. Just rest in the arms of the One who does. "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." —1 Peter 5:7 You are not alone, and you will not go under. God is holding you—even here. Just breathe.
