How to build resilience through extreme hardships; with Derrick Ngonga

from Afrikanah · host Julie N. Tshidibu

This is our first episode in English and in it, I am talking to Derrick who is a Radio Frequency Engineer at Huawei. Derrick has been living in Germany for over 17 years and has gone through some incredible hardships that most of us are blessed not to experience in life. From direct racism to even facing death on numerous occasions and despite or rather because of those challenges, he has developed a very profound perspective of how to deal with obstacles and live life fully - a perspective characterized by faith and a strong self image.  Derrick is passionate about the topics like self control and self improvement, balancing your emotions and reasoning in order to create the best outcome for yourself and to advance in life - as well as in career and personally, no matter if you're facing racism or anything else. His resilience is rare and something you'd definitely like to understand better, at the very least. And btw, for those who missed it, we will have some English episodes every now and then on Afrikanah anyway. I am sure you will get some interesting nuggets of wisdom from this guest of mine today. Enjoy!
