We acknowledge the past. We learn from the past. But we don’t live there anymore. Starting with our thoughts and intentions, continuing to our words and actions, and concluding with our associations and environments, anything that does not fit has to go. In the context of this passage, the Apostle Paul invites us “celebrate the festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.”Replace the malice and evil in our hearts and in our lives with sincerity, truth, and love.
