How to Choose a Tarot Deck

I talk about the Rider Waite Smith deck a lot on this podcast, and that's for one simple reason: it's referenced just about everywhere and it's the template for a lot of modern decks. So my thought is, using it as a frame of reference means you can either pull out your copy and follow along or visualize your way through the podcast if you're listening while you drive or do something else. But it's far from the only deck, and one of the biggest criticisms of the Rider Waite Smith is that it's very white, very European, and its symbolism is very Judeo-Christian. Which...yeah, it is, you can't deny any of those points. So what if you don't resonate with a deck like that?
