How to combat loneliness in your twenties with Lara

from Your Dose: Raw, Real Conversations on Mental Health – Stories That Make You Feel Less Alone. · host Emily Southwell

In this episode, we speak with Lara, who founded The Lonely Club due to the prevalence of loneliness in your 20s and wanted to create a space where people can feel less alone.  Lara shares her experience of losing her Dad in her and how this impacted loneliness, but also how losing her Dad was a fundamental part of her growth and becoming the person she is today.  We discuss Lara’s experience as an identical twin and the impact of comparison on her relationship with her sister, particularly due to her sisters diagnosis with anorexia leading to feelings of neglect and resentment.  However, Lara shares how she was able to heal this relationship with her sister, and manifest an incredible relationship and so much more.  This podcast is for anyone who might be struggling with grief, loneliness, or supporting a friend/family member with a mental illness in your twenties (or at any stage of your life).
