Tymon Shipp was born and raised in East St. Louis, Illinois when it was one of the most dangerous cities in America.  Crime and poverty took its toll on residents, including the Shipp family’s eight children. Thanks to his family’s love and faith, he survived childhood and came to embody the old saying “Comedy is tragedy plus time.”
