How to deal with apparent atrocities (Communicating towards The Answer-13)

from The Divine Man (El Hombre Divino) Show · host Devavan

There is a question that every teacher and student has to answer: How to deal with the atrocities of the world? How can we - practicing A Course in Miracles - share and experience healing even when facing information or situations that involve atrocities like genocide, murder, rape and violence etc.. How do we accept responsibility for what we see and what we made, and still engage in a compassionate way with what is seemingly out there and share it with brothers who are experiencing this too? We don't want to become cold, callus and removed, but rather truly loving and truly helpful. There is a temptation to turn a blind eye to these horrors and say "well, it isn't happening to me now and I hope it never happens to me." Finally we realize that this is not part of true healing, but rather an expression of fear. Therefore we ask the Holy Spirit to help us. If we (especially as Course students) jump over feelings and avoid the connection by saying "this is an illusion", are we making with such an expression a mistake? For most people who suffer of unjust or violent actions caused by others such expressions are felt like a personal attack on them or justifying the attacker's actions. Another question arises: Are there certain scenarios harder to forgive or even exceptions made? If so, what does it take to align the mind with truth and His wisdom? Fact is we all want to experience peace of mind. Jesus teaches us in A Course in Miracles that we can change our mind in regard to this limited thinking, and offers us a new basis of relating with Him inside our Heart and Soul. (ch. 26-X-3.-4., 25-IX-7.-10. & Ls 55(22 & 23) ◊ ◊ Next Session: This series will continue on one of the next Saturdays, at 10 am CT (Wisconsin Time) via Zoom.
