It's really just how to hunt for anything, how to come alive in your life, how to become empowered in your mindset, period, regardless of your job or career situation. So let's recap this week's edition of the EJH Mindsets for Success. Number one, don't behave. Don't be on your best behavior during the interview.

That's a school mindset, trying to get approval from the authority. Sure, be respectful and give 100%. But it's also okay to take risks, be vulnerable, be disagreeable while being solution oriented. Set boundaries if you were asked a question that's too personal for you.

Yes, you want to create massive value for the company and make it about serving them. And know that the interview is a two-way street. Yeah, we have these concepts in our mind about what an interview is. It's this shakedown from the authority that's going to drill us, even if that's just some subconscious type of energy and assumption that we put the interviewer on the pedestal.

We just need to let go of that and just recognize reality. All we have is humans who are talking to each other, seeking to exchange value, seeking to get to know one another. So you can be curious about them. You can be respectful of them, but also be disagreeable if you need to.

And that's going to actually potentially be in your favor because you're showing them that you're able to be disagreeable, which is a key trait, actually, towards being trustworthy, right? To just be a real person and then not just try to please them. Because if you're being a people pleaser, then you're actually technically being manipulative because you're just trying to get them to like you, right? And you're not actually saying the truth.

So these dynamics are key to be mindful of. So as a mindset for success, job hunt nutrients, keep a well-balanced diet of job hunt vitamins and nutrients, researching companies, video pitching, emailing, following up, building social capital with employees, interviewing like a boss, all these ingredients work together to create the future result you want. So during your job hunt, do at least one thing a day on each of the above. Yeah, it's key to see the big picture of the symbiotic relationship between the different elements.

You are running a sales pipeline. You are selling yourself. All right. Links worth checking out tips for hitting more career home runs by Mitchell Earl.

Number one mistake job seekers make when explaining why they want the job to hiring managers and discover new companies on crunchbase Yeah, dear listener I mean if you're not getting the email version of this podcast then just not gonna get these links I can't I can't just regurgitate the URLs into your brain through audio So actually get an email version and just check out career records.com and click on the start here page We have a new start here page with some of the top articles in each category So this post on discover new companies on crunchbase is one of the best of all time recognizing that you can just focus your jobs search on companies that are growing because they recently raised around the funding Companies that have certain missions that you're excited about and then you pitch your way in you don't need to even apply They don't even be hiring just a pitch them with a value prop great social capital The worst is gonna happen is they're like impressed And they're like oh we can't hire you right now But you build groundy points without because you send the custom pitch video So the question is like why not do it like right? Especially been listening to this stuff for a while from listening to me say this and reading our emails Whatever about pitch videos and like this stuff is effective So are you gonna be a consumer or a creator are you gonna listen to stuff and just let it wash over you? Are you going to listen and apply and do it all right? Quote of the week if you are working on something that really excites you you don't have to be pushed the vision pulls you Steve Jobs jumpstart your career in mindset for a short time We're giving away complimentary one hour one hour coaching calls with our new project human liberation I'll call with me and I'll pump you up with tips and advice on your career and through a revolutionary new method Re-u of deeper mindset hurdles this work is for anyone at any stage of their career I showed the method to sell influencer Scott Lee's and he said you not speak highly enough about the experience look a call now So I'm gonna get that show a link in the show notes for you But just also can just go to creators.com and click on free your mind free your mind and you'll you'll be able to get hooked up We're not giving away these calls forever So as we grow this program We're starting to grow this and it's not gonna be free forever So take advantage if you want to spot and check out this method where we can clear a limiting belief like I can't do it Or failure isn't safe.

I have this method and it's just blowing people's mind So like you have access as a specialist in this podcast most people don't know about this in the whole planet So you're like a first mover by being aware of this method. So give it a shot. Okay Here's the meat and potatoes of this week's DJH pitch a customer success role to break into startups 70% of people dislike their jobs. Are you one of those people if so what will you do to change your situation?

Will you take real action? You might be stalling because you think a career or job change has to be a huge shift that takes a long time But it doesn't need to be that big a video literally you can be working a corporate job today Shoot a 30 to 60 second video pitch tonight and be on your way to a new role in a week or two That's how low the bar is to stand out on the job hunt and that's how much power you have to pitch yourself If you're stuck on which role do I pitch then in my opinion I'd say pitch a customer success role if you have people skills and listening skills Then you can pitch your way into this role even with no experience in startups or no connections Your skills are more transferable than you think find a few potential roles for startups on a site like built-in or dynamite jobs Then find a human at the company create a 30-second video pitch email to that human follow up as needed in your pitch You can say how much you're excited about that company and then tell a quick story about your empathy and listening skills Connecting the dots as to why that matters to the company in that customer support role pretty simple Just need to do it remember the fact that you send the video pitch signals your boldness and initiative Which is the most powerful of all go for it. Yeah, so let go of the Daunting story you might be telling yourself about shifting from your job You hate or your career industry and like it might seem like a customer success role at a company has start up doing a completely new world It might seem far away and it's hard to break into that But that's a story you're telling yourself. It's actually not hard unless you tell yourself it's hard So customer success is a great role Startups because you actually likely have customer success skills like people skills and listening skills And you just need to look at your past experience and not even your official job experience Just your life experience what have you done with people and listening skills Communication skills and tell a quick story on a video pitch about that how that matters to them and keep following up to signal your persistence and enthusiasm It's like no one's doing this stuff, but it's there for you.

It's there for you The technology is there to shoot a video technology is there to email a human being across the planet So will you tap into the technology? You hit your job and stop putting up with it There's plenty of exciting like startup companies out there We're gonna need customer success people for example You seem to do a little bit of effort to learn about that find the companies on crunchbase, right or go to find cool jobs page on three hackers We have so many job boards. We have our own job board There's so many places to find niche job boards and interesting companies smaller companies There's remote jobs all over the place. It's remote.

It's like remote are us like everywhere's remote now almost So you just need to like focus just find a couple opportunities that are interesting to you and do a little research like 15 minutes of research a little reflection and Script or put together video pitch and there's plenty of webinars that I've done on a YouTube channel Articles every now and I video pitch like all this content there for you. Just go check it out Okay, and you just got to apply it absorb it. It's there for you. It doesn't even be that hard Okay, just focus on shipping it and doing it.

All right, all right appreciate listening y'all. I'll talk to you next week. Cheers
