He came to set us free from our past so we can live in the present and look forward to the future. It is very clear that bitterness and unforgiveness keep us in bondage to our past, keeping us from the wonderful life of liberty and hope Jesus offers us. No wonder He requires us to forgive! It is through the crucial practice of forgiveness that the door to freedom from our past is given. However, many balk at even taking the first step in forgiving others because they don’t know what forgiveness really is, let alone how to really forgive. That is what this message is about; What forgiveness is and is not, and how to forgive others so you can be set free.
