How to Get The Full State Pension Without Ever Working
from Retirement and Money Show · host Saq Hussain
Can you get the State Pension if you've never worked? You might think you can only get the UK State Pension if you've spent years in paid employment. But that isn't necessarily the case. National Insurance credits can build up your qualifying years even if you've never had a paid job, including through Child Benefit, caring responsibilities, Universal Credit and other benefits. This episode explains the 10 year minimum, the 35 years needed for the full State Pension, and how much each qualifying year could be worth over your retirement. We also look at some of the less obvious ways people can build or improve their State Pension record. That includes credits for stay at home parents and grandparents, checking for gaps in your National Insurance record, buying voluntary Class 3 contributions and Pension Credit for people on lower incomes. If you've never worked, taken time out to raise children, or spent years caring for someone, your State Pension position could be much better than you think.#StatePension #UKPensions #RetirementPlanning #NationalInsurance #PensionCredit #Retirement #UKFinance #PensionAdvice #FinancialEducation #RetirementPlanningUK
