How to Handle Objections to Scripture | Preparing the Crucible
from The Wisdom Crucible with Jakob McClain · host Jakob McClain
The power of a question is in the response that it elicits. This is Episode 0 of Questions in the Crucible, where a question from a skeptic meets an answer from a friend. Faith is not merely an intellectual endeavor, but we cannot truly divorce our intellect from our emotional mind and spirit. The intellect is part of the person, and I don’t want to leave any part of the person unattended. In this episode, I explain the methodology for response to tough questions, a method designed to filter out noise and honors both the emotional weight and theological implications of the question. However, knowledge without understanding does not lead to wisdom. A purely mechanical explanation of methodology would hardly bridge the gap from knowledge to understanding. The Wisdom Crucible exists to foster biblical wisdom, so it seems more likely divine inspiration than accident that I set out to write a 10 min summary of methodology and instead wrote a 20-minute sermon. Never forget in the darkness what you have learned in the light. For more studies, reflections, and updates, follow The Wisdom Crucible on YouTube and @WisdomCrucible on X.
