How to Hear God's Voice in a Noisy World

from Quiet In The Night · host Bill Scott

How to Hear God's Voice in a Noisy World In the midst of our fast-paced, noisy world, it can be challenging to hear God's voice. The constant distractions of daily life—social media, work pressures, family demands—often drown out the still, small voice of the Lord. Yet, God is always speaking, and He desires for us to hear Him. To hear God's voice, we must first make space for Him. This means setting aside time each day to be still before Him, whether in prayer, worship, or quiet reflection. Psalm 46:10 encourages us, "Be still, and know that I am God." In the stillness, we can tune our hearts to His gentle whispers. God also speaks through His Word. When we immerse ourselves in Scripture, we open ourselves to His guidance. Hebrews 4:12 reminds us that the Word of God is living and active, able to speak directly to our hearts. Finally, listening for God's voice requires trust. Often, He speaks through feelings of peace or conviction, leading us in ways we may not fully understand. Trusting His wisdom and timing is key to discerning His voice in a noisy world. Bible Verse: "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." — John 10:27
