The heart is the control center of our mind, will, and emotions. When we are saved, we are given a new heart, one that is tender and can respond to God's eternal truth. Yet, our hearts can become hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. That's why we are commanded to keep our hearts with all diligence, for out of them proceed the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23).
