How to Know When to Quit a Job, Relationship, or Project

This little tree was given to me during my cancer treatments, so it holds a lot of sentimental value, but for two years, it's been a non-stop fight against persistent spider mites! I'm usually a "never quit" kind of person, believing breakthrough is just around the corner, but I'm feeling deflated and frustrated.
