How to Love Your Haters | Podmas Day 16Can you feel the love online? I hope you can, but occasionally, unfortunately, you’re also eventually going to see someone’s lack of love for you. This could come in the form of a hate comment or an unwelcome comment about your physical appearance. Today I’m talking through some ways to love your online haters. I get it, it’s tough, I’ve been there, I’ve cried. I don’t want you to go through all the same thoughts I did. I wish someone were around to tell me why I shouldn’t care as much as I do and how I shouldn’t let it affect me the way it does. It’s easier said than done to “focus on the positive” but in reality, the execution of this can be…challenging. I’m here to tell you I get it. There is something wrong with THEM, not something wrong with you. You are brave enough to put something on the internet that you love and want to share with the world. The simple act of you doing this shows that you are brave and talented and it’s amazing. The fact that these online trolls have to take time out of their day to bring you down is just really sad when you think about it in the end. Talk it out with a friend but realize that these people don’t know you and in real life would never speak to you with such venom and hatred. People online get brave behind a keynoard and think it’s perfectly fine to say and type anything that they are thinking and many of them do it just for fun, forgetting that there are REAL people on the receiving end of these messages. Most of these people would be so embarrassed if they had to show their mother, or grandmother the types of comments and messages they send to people. The likelihood of you ever running into one of these people in real life is slim to none. The chances of them being brave enough to say the same things to you is almost non-existent. Keep trucking on, that’s all I can tell you.
